Description
Cytanet now offers you high-speed Internet via satellite. The service is especially useful for customers who require broadband Internet access but reside in areas where Cyta does not offer DSL service.
As shown in the diagram below, the user receives data from the satellite, while transmitted data is sent to Cytanet through the telephone line via a Dial-Up connection. Before the service can be operated, a satellite antenna** and a satellite modem must be installed.
Products
Satellite Internet products offer fast Internet access with speeds up to 1Mbps for surfing, searching for information, entertainment, sending messages and communicating with friends. Choose the speed that fits your needs. Please note that the reception speed is reduced according to the volume that each customer downloads at intervals of thirty days.
The above products offer:- Connection to the Internet at speeds of up to 1Mbps***.
- One satellite modem****.
- €30,42/£17,80 (which corresponds to approximately 30 hours of total connection time per month) worth of Internet call charges included in the monthly subscription*****.
- Four e-mail addresses.
- Free provision of 20MB of personal web space.
- Free provision of Safe Internet-for home service, for protecting children from illegal, undesirable and harmful Internet content.
- Free provision of antivirus and antispam e-mail protection.
- Internet access via the Cytanet Roaming service from all over the world.
- Management of your services through My Cytanet Services.
- Technical Service and Customer Support via 8000 8080, FREE of charge. Working hours: 08:00-24:00 (weekdays) and 10:00-24:00 (Saturday-Sunday).
Service Requirements
- Personal Computer with Internet Browser and RJ45 Ethernet card (able to support 10 Mbps transfer speed).
- Satellite antenna** aligned with the Sirius 2 satellite at 4,8o East with a diameter of at least 85cm.
- Analogue (PSTN) telephone line or digital telephone line (ISDN) with analogue interface, for Dial-Up connection.
