Description
Cytanet's NetRunner service offers access to the Internet through Cyta's broadband DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) network. The DSL network utilizes existing copper phone lines (the local loop) to bring high speed and 'always on' connectivity to users. As shown in the picture below an additional equipment is placed on your existing telephone line that allows for simultaneous voice and data transfer. Therefore a user can use his/her telephone line while using the Internet, with speeds up to 70 times faster than what is provided by the PSTN network.

If you enjoy surfing the net for hours and want to change to surfing gear then the NetRunner Home service is the right product for you. NetRunner Home is ideal for customers with heavy downloads and "bursty" traffic. It is capable of running many times faster than conventional dial circuits (PSTN) or ISDN, providing download speeds of up to 4Mbps.

Cytanet offers special subscription charges for groups of 15 persons and over that are a member of a specific Professional Body and require access to internet.
Cytanet has also developed two other DSL products that address the Corporate/Business customer NetRunner Office8000, NetRunner Office4000 and NetRunner Office2000.
NOTES:The NetRunner service requires a connection with the DSL Access broadband DSL service. Cytanet customers can change their current service to the NetRunner service maintaining their existing e-mail address, username and password.

** The connection to the public Internet through the DSL Access products is asymmetric and is offered with UBR (Unspecified Bit Rate) parameters. This means that the available speed relies on the network dimensioning and on the network traffic during that specific time.
It is also noted that the access speed to the Internet relies on the available bandwidth of the connection to the requested information/content side located either in Cyprus or abroad as well as the NetRunner product that the customer has selected. |
